You can
show your support for services for older adults and their caregivers by making
voluntary contributions. ECIAAA and
community programs on aging must inform you of the cost of services and give
you the opportunity to freely contribute.
We can suggest a donation.
However, under the Older American Act, we cannot deny services to you if
you are unwilling or unable to contribute.
We encourage you to make donations which reflect how much you value our services
and what you can afford.
During
Fiscal Year 2006, ECIAAA administered a budget for programs and services in
east central Illinois totaling $8.9 million. Federal and State grant assistance comprised
68% of total revenue. Local cash and
in-kind support made up 19% of total resources.
Voluntary contributions from participants made up 12% of total
resources.
Federal and
State funds for community-based services for older Americans have not kept pace
with the growth of the aging population, increased demand for services, and
rising costs. ECIAAA encourages local
units of government, United Way Agencies, community foundations, corporations,
and private donors to provide financial support for programs and services for
older adults and their caregivers.
